A builder was left red-faced after he plunged into a puddle while simulating the Grand National in a construction site race.
Footage captured four men competing in the “on-site Grand National” which involved them jumping over hurdles and around bricks on a mocked-up racecourse.
But the fun soon turned to fury for one labourer after he fell into a puddle inches from the finishing line.
The spectacle sparked uncontrollable fits of laughter from his colleagues but left the man in a rage as he accused them of setting him up.
The clip begins with four men lined up on an imaginary start line each holding brooms to mimic the racehorses.
A man in a yellow hard hat, known as Jonesy, is quick off the starting blocks and jumps first over the opening hurdle to lead the race.
As he makes his way around the bricks with a clear lead builders shout him encouragement such as “Jonesy’s in the lead, you can do it son”.
But as he hurdles the second jump he soon plunges into a puddle to find himself waist high in water.
Jonesy appears angered by his fall as he pulls of his hi-viz jacket and throws down his broom as he points the finger colleagues for setting him up.
He is heard saying: “That’s bang out of order lads. I’m going home.”
As Jonesy leaves the site, two of the three other competitors are lying on the floor with a fit of giggles.
One man is heard saying: “I think I’m going to be sick”.
The video was released by On The Tools the day before the world famous horse race at Aintree to urge traders to stay safe on building sites.
