And finally… Construction worker wins Philippines lottery
A 48-year old man who works as a construction worker in Quezon City in the Philippines has joined the ranks of the country’s millionaires after claiming on Thursday the P97.1 million (£1.49m) Super Lotto pot from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II personally handed the check to the winner who placed the winning combination of 09-11-18-23-25-31 for last Sunday’s Super Lotto 6/49 draw.
Rojas said the winner — who is married with two children — used the birthdates of his family members in placing his P40 “standard pick” bet.
The winner, Rojas added, has been placing lotto bets for the past two years.
Rojas said the winning bettor placed his bet at a lotto outlet in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Rojas added that the winner said he would use his winnings to build a row of apartments for rent, buy farmlands and save some money for his children.
