And finally... Didn't see it coming?

An airport which splashed nearly £2.5 million on a runway extension can’t use it because it’s in a blind spot for the airport’s control tower.

Victoria International Airport in British Columbia, Canada completed the works in fall 2019 at a cost of $4.3 million CAD (around £2.5m).

However, the roughly 336-metre extension is still not in use because it is not in eyesight of the control tower, Goldstream News Gazette reports.

Around 38,000 cubic metres of soil was removed and stockpiled during the 27-month project.

Geoff Dickson, CEO of the Victoria International Airport Authority, said: “At the time there was consideration with Nav Canada of relocating the control tower to the other side of the airport. There has been no resolution or agreement overall on that.”
