John Manley, 36, smashed the newly-finished hotel because he was owed £600 in wages by one of the contractors who delivered it, Metro reports.

A video of his rampage went viral on social media, showing him shouting: “All you had to do was pay me!”

He was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court after admitting damaging property being reckless as to whether life is endangered.

The hotel sustained more than £443,000 of damage but nobody inside the building was hurt.
