And finally… Digitised construction plans for Wallace Monument to go on show

The National Wallace Monument in Stirling is set to have new digitised plans unveiled to mark its 155th anniversary.

The monument was designed by Edinburgh architect JT Rochead and began construction in 1861.

The original 18 hand-drawn designs date from 1859 to 1862 and underwent repairs in 2014 before being digitalised by Townsweb Archiving.

A total of £350,000 was spent on refurbishments for the monument in 2014, including new displays for its three exhibition galleries.
