And finally… Edinburgh architect among Great British Bake Off hopefuls
An architect from Edinburgh is hoping to be crowned the next winner of Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off.
The Scotsman reports that the 29-year-old, known only as Tom, lives in the Capital with his partner David, and often makes shortbread for his relatives and friends.

Baking has always been a huge part of family life for Tom and his brothers and sisters, who were taught to bake by their mother - a home economics teacher. The family cherishes recipe books passed down by grandparents from both sides of the family.
Perhaps Tom can take inspiration from Ukrainian patisserie chef Dinara Kasko who draws on her background in architecture to cook complex, geometric desserts.
