And finally… Greenock’s yellow house repainted after planning battle

After a long running battle between owners and town planners came to an end, Greenock’s yellow house is being repainted, according to The Scotsman.

The property on the Esplanade was the subject of many complaints after owner’s decided to paint their house lemon.

The Varese family were in the middle of a bitter dispute with council officials, who ruled that the new shade was not in keeping with the west end conservation area and ordered that the house be repainted.

Permission for the new paint job was given recently, with work starting this week.
