A development of high-rise buildings in Germany that were supposed to form the word ‘HOME’ on completion has been left in an unfortunate position after an investor pulled out of the ‘M’ building.
The new Franklin district is being built on what was once Germany’s largest US military base in Mannheim.

At its centre are four high-rise buildings with more than 100 residential units shaped like letters, each over 50 meters tall. All four together are intended to form the word ‘HOME’. The letters are not positioned directly next to each other, but are distributed throughout the development to offer different perspectives.
House ‘E’ was officially inaugurated in October 2023, and houses ‘O’ and ‘H’ are nearing completion. Only the ‘M’ is still nowhere to be seen.
