And finally… love at fur-st sight
A construction worker became a viral TikTok sensation after adopting an orphaned squirrel.
Nick Pederson, 54, looked after the baby squirrel after his 25-year-old daughter spotted him curled up on a roadside in their native Grimsby.
He named the squirrel “Planet”, built him a cage from an old chest of drawers and even took him to meet his colleagues.
His daughter Daisy told Grimsby Live: “Dad has a skinhead, is covered in tattoos and is a builder so it’s even more endearing how much he loves Planet.
“There’s this man with a shaved head, so seeing him going gooey-eyed over a squirrel is just so funny.”
She added: “Dad took Planet down to the builder’s merchants to show him off to his friends.
“It was hilarious seeing all of these burly blokes standing around giving this squirrel attention, taking selfies with Planet and everything. They were all in love with him.”
Although the family wanted to keep Planet, he was recently sent to the Whitby Wildlife Centre to live with other squirrels – but his antics with the family became a TikTok hit in the meantime.
