And finally… Malcolm Hughes goes rabbit hunting with Inverness Castle survey
Malcolm Hughes has been instructed to carry out a detailed ground-penetrating radar survey of Inverness Castle to detect rabbit burrows.
Due to the shape of the survey area, scans were logged with GNSS to provide accurate geo-positioning. Radar is an excellent method of detecting subsurface anomalies.
The burrows themselves were detected in the form of voids under the surface which were identified during post-processing. The findings of the survey was used to assess overall ground stability.
