And finally… Man spends 20 years (and £26k) turning home into cats playground

A Californian builder has spent the last 20 years turning his home into an adventure playground for his cats.

Peter Cohen, of Goleta, who currently has 15 rescue cats, has spent about $40,000 (£26,500) creating the kitty paradise.

He’s spent the money on building a colourful and intricate network of perches, tunnels, ramps and walkways.

“Way more expensive than a sane person would build, but I didn’t care,” he said. “I love my cats, my house and art, so I designed it to be beautiful to me.”

Mr Cohen says it brings him a lot of satisfaction knowing that he’s providing a safe and happy environment for his rescue animals.

“Giving rescued cats a better life means giving them a place that is solely their own,” he told Catster.

“They give us unconditional love, and building the catwalks is one way of expressing my gratitude for that.”

A video of his work has notched up close to half a million views on YouTube. It was first posted online last month but went viral this week.
