And finally… Melania Trump deletes website amid false architecture degree claim
The professional website of Melania Trump, wife of Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump, has been taken down after it emerged that the claim she obtained a degree in architecture was false.
The site stated that the Slovenian ex-model obtained an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Ljubljana.
“After obtaining a degree in design and architecture at University in Slovenia, Melania was jetting between photo shoots in Paris and Milan, finally settling in New York in 1996,” it said.
It has since come to light that the prospective first lady left the course after her first year to pursue her career in modelling in Milan.
Earlier this week, the biography was removed from her official website and the page now redirects to the Trump Organization homepage.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to questions about whether she did graduate. However, Trump posted a statement on her own Twitter on Thursday afternoon about the removal of the website.
The statement read: “The website in question was created in 2012 and has been removed because it does not accurately reflect my current business and professional interests.”
