And finally… not singing its praises
One of the world’s best-selling singers has been accused of making a 10-bedroom mansion impossible to sell by describing it as scary.
The owners of Lock House, a Grade II-listed property in West Sussex, blame Adele for their failure to sell the building and its 32-acre estate, which they value at £6 million.
In an application for planning permission to transform the property into a number of residential units, they say the singer “blighted the property by saying it is haunted”.
Adele rented the mansion for six months in 2012.
In an interview at the time, she described part of the building as “quite scary” and said it “gives me the creeps”, the BBC reports.
“This comment negatively impacted future marketing efforts and continues to affect the property’s reputation to this day,” the owners said.
