And finally… rescue with a porpoise
A McLaughlin & Harvey flood protection team has assisted with the rescue of two dolphins.
Staff at the contractor’s Broughty Ferry Flood Protection Scheme were concerned when the dolphins became stranded on the shallow sands of the beach close to the site.
Highlighting the rescue on LinkedIn, the company said: “Thankfully the dolphins were released without further harm and were escorted back to the safety of the River Tay by The British Divers Marine Life Rescue.”
It is believed the common dolphins had likely become stranded after being bullied by bottlenose dolphins which are larger in size.
