Police have launched an investigation into reports that a group of youths rode a stolen JCB steamroller through a housing estate.
Footage posted online shows the moment the youngsters chant loudly and drive the machine through Wallacetown in Ayr, on October 13, about 10.30pm.
The roller was driven along Whitletts Road when a report was made to police. It was later traced on Russell Drive has now been returned to the owners.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of youths who had stolen a tarmac roller and were driving it along Whitletts Road, Ayr.
“The incident happened around 10pm on Wednesday, October 13.
“Officers traced the machinery in the Russell Drive area and it has been returned to the owners. Enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone who has any information relating to this incident should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 3552 of 13 October.
“Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
