The worker from Silver Spring, Maryland, stopped by a convenience store and, as part of his Friday lunch break routine, purchased a scratch-off ticket, intending to enjoy his weekly lottery game.

However, a momentary lapse of focus led him to press the wrong ticket on the screen. Realising his error, he berated himself and returned to his car feeling disappointed. It was during this moment of self-reflection that he decided to check the instant ticket he had mistakenly purchased for the $50,000 cash game.

To his astonishment, he discovered that his accidental purchase had turned into a life-changing win. “When I saw the prize, I couldn’t believe it. ‘This can’t be true,’ I thought,” he expressed.

The fortunate construction worker revealed that he and his wife have plans to use their winnings to purchase property in the near future.
