And finally… taps on
A nearly five-century-old brewery has been modernised with a new self-service beer fountain by Polish design studio Projekt Praga.
The new taproom in Tenczynek Brewery – about an hour’s drive from Kraków – has won plaudits for its modern reimagining of a building dating back to 1553.
Much of the building was destroyed in World War II and not brought back into use until 2014, Dezeen reports.
Visitors can pour themselves beer or vodka from 14 taps in the centre of the taproom.
Projekt Praga co-founder Marcin Garbacki told Dezeen: “Since this element defines the modus operandi of the venue – it’s a taproom – we decided to turn it into a centrally located mini-rotunda, the heart of the space.
“It defines the logic of the space and facilitates accidental meetings of different users, serving as a social tool.”
