And finally… Win a home in London for just £85
Roscommon GAA, a voluntary sporting organisation in Ireland and Gaelic Football Club, has launched a competition which offers the chance for one lucky participant to win a two-bed apartment in one of London’s newest and most culturally rich neighbourhoods.
Following the popularity of the “Win a House in Dublin” competition in 2018, Roscommon GAA, alongside their commercial arm, Club Rossie, will now launch “Win a Home in London”, with an even bigger prize available for an £85 raffle ticket.
The grand prize will be a two-bedroom apartment, worth £695,000 in London City Island. The development, situated just moments from Canary Wharf, is now considered one of the leading cultural hubs of East London, and one of the capital’s newest and most exciting areas to live. The lucky winner will join English National Ballet, London Film School and a host of new tenants moving to London City Island in 2020.
The competition will aim to improve on the money raised from the 2018 version, which exceeded 900,000. Kumar Gangah, originally from Mauritius but living in Dublin was the winner of the 3-bedroom house worth €425,000 last year. The group sold over 14,000 tickets in total and the live competition was streamed on Facebook on December 30 to over 30,000 viewers.
Proceeds from this year’s competition will be used to create state-of-the-art sporting facilities for generations to come in Roscommon.
Sean Mulryan, group chief executive of Ballymore, who has long been a supporter of the organisation, said: “I am very pleased to be able to support the competition which will raise vital money for the redevelopment of Dr Hyde Park and the development of the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence in Roscommon. I wish all of the participants the best of luck.”
The winner of the competition will be announced on 10 May 2020 in London at Roscommon GAA’s first game of the 2020 Gaelic Football.
Tickets are priced at £85 (€100) and are available online.
