Land director Andrew Duncan is the latest hire at housebuilder Cruden, joining the senior team amidst an exciting period of growth.
Bringing almost two decades of experience to his new role, Andrew has held senior titles at Cala Homes and Kelvin Properties, and has been instrumental in delivering a number of key sites across Scotland. Examples include 101 apartments on Mansionhouse Road in Shawlands and the regeneration of Pacific Quay, bringing over 200 mixed homes to the long-vacant former Glasgow Garden Festival site.
In recent years Cruden has strategically developed its business to cover much of central Scotland, from Renfrewshire to East Lothian, and from the Scottish Borders to Perthshire. Its development pipeline is wide, ranging from smaller boutique developments to larger masterplans of over 200 homes. With a focus on both private and land-led affordable housing, Cruden offers a diverse mix of products, including its Juniper Residential brand for the over-55s market.
Speaking on his appointment, Andrew Duncan said: “Cruden combines a unique and highly entrepreneurial business, with a strong heritage of 82 years in this very competitive industry.
“The introduction of NPF4 marks a significant policy shift in our industry, bringing both opportunities and challenges. I was inspired to join Cruden to strategically support its growth and help navigate this evolving landscape.
“Cruden presents the opportunity to be more nimble with deal structures and I have been thoroughly impressed by the team’s professionalism and collaborative approach. There is a strong alignment of vision within the business, with a shared commitment to driving progress, which is an environment I am excited to be part of.”
Fraser Lynes, managing director of Cruden Homes, said: “Andrew has a strong track record of delivering key sites across Scotland and brings a proactive approach and determined work ethic, which is a great fit for our team. He will be instrumental to our business as we continue to build momentum of a higher volume of developments with a growing geographical spread.”
