Arc-Tech (Scotland) employs five new apprentices

The new apprentices started this month

Building services contractor Arc-Tech (Scotland) has confirmed the employment of five, new trade apprentices this August.

The Glasgow-based company specialises in mechanical and electrical service provision for new build construction and has an annual turnover in excess of £20 million with 140 staff.

Strong advocators of youth employment, the firm’s latest intake will join the businesses existing 19 apprentices, each undertaking an industry-recognised programme in heating engineering, electrical, and plumbing.

Each new start will undertake a four-year apprenticeship programme with a part-theory, part–applied learning process adopted in partnership with leading colleges and undertaken alongside Arc-Tech’s expert site teams who are supporting a growing contract portfolio including commercial, industrial, education and residential projects for the country’s largest contractors.

John Gallacher, Arc-Tech (Scotland) managing director, said: “On behalf of the Arc-Tech (Scotland) Board of Directors, I am delighted to welcome five new apprentices to our business. Since our launch, we have placed a great deal of emphasis on providing opportunities for young people; apprenticeships are great ways of bringing people to the construction industry and the experience these newest recruits will have, alongside our existing workforce, will be invaluable to their development. I have every confidence that they will do well and I look forward to working with them during their apprenticeship.”
