Architect Richard Gibson passes away aged 89

Née Gibson Architects has shared news of the recent passing of Shetland-based architect Richard Gibson, aged 89.
The practice was originally established as Richard Gibson Architects in 1972, with Richard taking the helm for almost 40 years.
Employees Nick Brett and Adrian Wishart shared directorship duties from 2011 until Richard’s retirement in 2016, when the practice rebranded as Née Gibson Architects.
A funeral will take place at 11:00 in Mareel today and will be streamed live on YouTube.
