Architects’ Showcase: Detached stone villa extension by Brunton Design

Brunton Design has designed this large single level extension to a detached stone villa near Dundee.
Allan Mudie from the practice told SCN about this design.
He said: “The splendid existing villa requires modification so rather than replace the existing north facing family room and kitchen, we proposed a new extension that faces south and out over the existing large garden.
“This will allow our client’s young children to play whilst supervised and allowing the family to enjoy the amazing site location and aspect.
“We have proposed contemporary materials with contemporary detailing to compliment the traditional stone and sash windows of the villa. We love it.”
