About this development:
- Authority:South Lanarkshire
- Type:Leisure
- Applications:
- Team:Cooper Cromar (architect), Ashfield Land (developer)
The new facility, located off Cambuslang Road adjacent to Junction 2 of the M74, will be the first Topgolf in Scotland.
Ashfield Land had started work in March last year with the facility initially expected to be completed in spring 2021.
Following the hiatus caused by the pandemic, the firm started back on site in July and began the main construction work in mid-August.
Steven McGarva, development director at Ashfield Land, who has led the strategic assembly of the Two 74 site and is overseeing its build out, said the firm is pleased to be back on site and making progress.
He told SCN: “Topgolf is a really unique attraction and we’re proud to be delivering the first one in Scotland, the home of golf. It will be extremely popular with the people of Glasgow and a great addition to Clyde Gateway. On opening, approximately 300 full- and part-time jobs will be created, with recruitment to be focused in the local area.
“We will provide another update early in the new year with further information on opening.”
