Ashfield Land tees off with Scotland’s first Topgolf attraction
Ashfield Land has started construction on a new multi-level golf entertainment complex at its Two 74 Glasgow development.
About this development:
- Authority:South Lanarkshire
- Type:Leisure
- Applications:
- Team:Cooper Cromar (architect), Ashfield Land (developer)
The new facility, located off Cambuslang Road adjacent to Junction 2 of the M74, will be the first Topgolf in Scotland, with the leisure operator seeing the site as a unique and exciting opportunity to expand its global footprint.
Approximately 300 full- and part-time jobs will be created by the new facility, with recruitment to be focused in the local area.
Steven McGarva, development director at Ashfield Land, who has led the strategic assembly of the Two 74 site and is overseeing its build out, said: “We’ve been working hard to bring Topgolf to Two 74 for some time now, so it’s fantastic to break ground and begin construction on site.
“We’re seeing a rise in demand for experience-led leisure activities like Topgolf and are confident it will be extremely popular with the people of Glasgow plus a great addition to Clyde Gateway.”
Construction started on-site this week and the facility is expected to be completed in spring 2021.
Temporary road works and diversions will be in place near the site from next week (Monday 9 March) and regular updates will be provided as the development progresses.
Two 74 is part of Clyde Gateway, Scotland’s biggest regeneration programme.
