Avant Homes acquires Glenboig site to deliver £9m development

Avant Homes Scotland has acquired a 2.42-acre site in Glenboig, North Lanarkshire, to deliver a £9 million new development of 31 homes.

Called Craignethan Gate and located off Glenboig Road, the development already has planning permission and will comprise a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes. It will feature six of Avant Homes’ practically designed, energy-efficient house types including semi-detached and detached homes.

Avant Homes Scotland has also committed to a community contribution of £250,000 to support local services.

Work will start at Craignethan Gate in July and it is anticipated the first homes will be released for sale in October. The first residents are scheduled to move into their new homes next April.

The site was acquired via Edinburgh-based property consultancy Scarlett Land and Development which acted for the vendor.

Craignethan Gate is the second site that Avant Homes Scotland has acquired through the property consultancy. The first was a 16.5-acre site in Rosyth for the housebuilder’s £44m, 170 new home Stewart’s Quarter development which launched its first homes for sale earlier this month.

Avant Homes Scotland managing director, Jim Wilkinson, said: “Craignethan Gate is an excellent opportunity for us to provide people living in and around Glenboig with our popular range of practically designed, energy-efficient homes.

“It’s a great place to be thanks to being located within the Seven Lochs Wetland Park and also just 20 minutes from Glasgow, providing people with the best of town and country living.

“We want to provide quality new homes for everyone and create vibrant communities wherever we build. Our mix of homes at Craignethan Gate will do just that as we have properties ideal for first time buyers, families and anyone looking to move further up the property ladder.”

Edinburgh-based Avant Homes Scotland currently has nine live developments. These range from Craigowl Law in Dundee to Draffen Park in Stewarton.

Jim added: “We are also very pleased to have further strengthened our relationship with the team at Scarlett Land and Development. It has been a pleasure working with them on this deal and the Rosyth land acquisition, and we look forward to discussing future opportunities with them.”
