Avant Homes begins work on £56m development of 165 new homes in Penicuik
Work is underway by Avant Homes to bring a £56 million development of new homes to Penicuik.
The housebuilder has been granted planning permission by Midlothian Council to build 165 homes just off Mauricewood Road in the north of the town.
The development, called Carnethy Heights, forms part of a wider scheme which will see a total of 544 new homes built in a joint development programme with CALA Homes.
Avant Homes will deliver a mix of three, four and five-bedroom semi-detached and detached properties. Initial infrastructure and groundworks are progressing at pace and the first homes are expected to be ready for occupation in July 2019.
Avant Homes Scotland managing director, David Knight, said: “Penicuik is a prime area for development and benefits from a great location, only 9 miles from Edinburgh.
“We have ambitious growth plans for the business in Scotland where there is high demand for our product so we are very pleased to have received planning for this site, which will enable us to further build our presence in Midlothian and bring more of our innovative, design-led new homes to aspirational buyers.”
Avant Homes Scotland currently has 15 developments in its portfolio stretching across the Central Belt, including Hawthornden, Rosewell, Burnell Park, Haddington and Balfour Park, Newcraighall.
