Axiom Project Services helps regenerate Dundee area with PBSA delivery
Axiom Project Services has helped a significant Dundee development take a further step forward following the granting of planning permission for the second stage of the new Glenmore Group PBSA scheme at Douglas Street.
About this development:
- Authority:Dundee City
- Type:Residential
- Applications:
- Team:Axiom Project Services (employers agent, project manager and cost consultants), Scott Hobbs Planning (planning consultant), CHAP Group (contractor), Glenmore Group (developer), CAG Architects (architect)
Planning permission for Phase 2 of the scheme, to deliver 98 studio apartments, was unanimously backed by local councillors last month.
Axiom Project Services Ltd is acting as employers agent, project manager and cost consultants on Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the new circa 250-bed PBSA scheme, being delivered for Glenmore Group working alongside Maven Capital Partners.
The PBSA scheme aims to address the evolving needs of modern students, offering a blend of state-of-the-art amenities, sustainable design features, and convenient access to both campus and city amenities.
The new development seeks to help address the chronic shortage of student accommodation for the city’s booming higher and further education sectors.
Andrew Whiteley of Glenmore Group said: “We are delighted to be bringing forward Dundee’s first brand-new purpose-built student accommodation development in many years which we hope will go some way towards helping to address the chronic shortage of student beds in the city. We very much look forward to unveiling Phase 1 of Stanley Studios this summer and hope our student residents will have a fantastic time living there.”
These additional beds are being developed alongside property and private equity manager Maven Capital Partners, which has a successful track record of delivering high quality student accommodation across the UK.
Carolyn Ferguson of Maven said: “Stanley Studios will be an impressive addition to the Dundee student accommodation market, offering spacious rooms and excellent amenity spaces to meet the needs of students, while contributing to the redevelopment of this key area in the city centre.”
Axiom Project Services has delivered over 1000 student beds over the last year across the UK, with circa 2000 beds in the pipeline on schemes it is leading as both project managers/employers agent and cost consultant.
Bookings are open through operator CRM Students for Phase 1, which will complete in Summer 2024 in advance of the new academic year. Phase 2 is expected to commence on site May 2024, with anticipated completion expected in Summer 2025.
