The new £12.2 million Maidenhill Primary and Nursery School will be located off Ayr Road and will provide early learning education facilities for the new Maidenhill residential area where the first phase of the 834 house development is already under construction.

Overall 444 new primary and 120 nursery places are being created along with joint community facilities that include a multi-use games hall and 3G pitch.

Work will start work on site in May and the school will open in summer 2019.

Regional director Bruce Dickson said: “Maidenhill Primary is the centrepiece of this new community and we are delighted to have again been selected by East Renfrewshire Council to deliver such a key project to unlocking the full potential of this area.”

BAM Construction has a track record for building schools throughout Scotland and is currently completing the final phase of the new Barrhead High School for the same client.
