BAM Nuttall appoints Huw Jones as executive director as Ian Parish retires
The executive board of Royal BAM Group NV has announced that Ian Parish, executive director, BAM Nuttall, has decided to retire from the business on 31 December 2022.
Mr Parish, who has over 38 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry, re-joined BAM Nuttall in 2020 as managing director, Major Projects, before taking on the role of interim managing director of BAM Nuttall in September 2021. He was subsequently appointed executive director, BAM Nuttall, in the newly formed UK & Ireland division on 1 January 2022.
Mr Parish will be succeeded by Huw Jones, who is currently managing director of the transport sector for BAM Nuttall.
Mr Jones, a chartered civil engineer, joined BAM in 2009 following previous roles with both contracting and client organisations in the industry, initially joining as a project manager in the South West of England before moving on to various roles across the rail division. Mr Jones subsequently became the division director for Rail in 2017 before being promoted to his current role as Managing Director for Transport in April this year. He is married to Rachel and they have two children.
To ensure a smooth handover, Ian Parish will remain within the business during January 2023.
John Wilkinson, COO, BAM UK & Ireland, said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Ian for his outstanding long-service and his commitment to the BAM organisation over the last four decades. We wish him a happy and healthy retirement. Following a detailed recruitment process I am delighted to announce Huw Jones as the new executive director for the BAM Nuttall business.
“Huw has brought huge success to our rail division over the last decade and he brings a fresh approach and a real appetite to deliver for our stakeholders, as he takes up his new role leading our civil engineering business.”
Huw Jones added: “We have a strong business that has been built around our great people, with a fantastic culture and a proud civil engineering heritage. I feel extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to help take the business forward, as we look to build upon our strong platform and deliver for our customers, stakeholders and for the communities in which we work. Thanks also to Ian who leaves a fantastic legacy for our organisation, and we wish him every happiness in his retirement.”
