Barratt Developments Scotland strengthens leadership team with trio of promotions
Barratt Developments has strengthened its leadership team with three new appointments north of the border.
Barratt Developments Scotland – which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes – will see Alison Condie, Andrew Morrison and Lorraine Paterson move into more senior roles at the business in the coming months.
Ms Condie, who is the current managing director for East Scotland, will assume the position of regional director. She joined Barratt in 2005 as a technical director based at the East of Scotland’s offices in Edinburgh and she was subsequently promoted to managing director in 2013.
During her time in East Scotland, she led a period of significant growth in the division, to a business now delivering over 700 units per annum and maintaining exceptional customer service levels, health and safety performance and profit levels.
Ms Condie’s role will be filled by Mr Morrison, operations director for the division, from 1 July. He joined the business in 2018 as operations director from another major national housebuilder, bringing with him a reputation for delivering high-quality new homes throughout Scotland.
Mr Morrison, who lives in Stirling, has assisted Ms Condie over the past six years and has managed a number of initiatives leading incremental improvement, particularly in customer service and construction related matters.
Ms Condie said: “I joined Barratt nearly 20 years ago, and I am delighted with this wider role within the Scottish region.
“Barratt and David Wilson Homes is a very rewarding place to work and I have been lucky to be part of a great team that are helping to push the homebuilding sector forward.
“I am really looking forward to this new opportunity and helping to continue growing the region.”
Mr Morrison added: “It’s been a fantastic journey working with Barratt Developments so far, and I’m delighted to have been promoted to managing director for East Scotland.
“I’m thankful for the guidance Alison has given me while working beside her over the last six years and I’m looking forward to taking on this new challenge and helping to continue growing the division.”
In addition to the two management promotions, Barratt Developments Scotland is also saying goodbye to Anne Ross, sales director for the East of Scotland division. She will retire at the end of September, having spent a grand total of 22 years with the company – four as sales director for West Scotland before switching and spending 16 years in the East of Scotland team.
Ms Paterson, who has been a senior sales manager for Barratt Developments West Scotland for the past four years, will replace Ms Ross from October, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience within the housebuilding industry.
Ms Paterson said: “I’m thrilled to be stepping into the role of Sales Director for Barratt Homes East Scotland this autumn after spending four years working with the talented team in West Scotland.
“Anne has done a fantastic job of growing the division over the last 16 years, so it’s no surprise that there’s big boots to fill.
“I wish her all the best in her retirement and look forward to this new, exciting chapter in my career with Barratt.”
