Bathgate football team wins support from Taylor Wimpey
Taylor Wimpey East Scotland has shown its support for local children’s community football by donating £2,000.
The funding will allow Bathgate Community Football Club to establish a new 2018 boys’ football team and supply training kits and match-day tracksuit jackets for the older 2011 team.
Club coach coordinator David Drummond for Bathgate Thistle Community Football team said: “It was our ambition to establish a new team for boys aged six, and we are thrilled to have received this substantial support from Taylor Wimpey, which has helped us to do that. We are so grateful for their support for initiatives like ours in the local community.
“We have provided training strips for every player and buy essential training equipment, ensuring our weekly training sessions are fun, healthy and safe for everyone taking part. Taylor Wimpey’s donation also allowed us to extend some much-needed support to our 2011 team, who needed new training kits and matchday tracksuit jackets.”
Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “We are proud to be continuing our support for grassroots football in the local communities where we build, and we were delighted to be able to help Bathgate Thistle Community Football Club to establish a new team for children aged six to get involved in sport.
“It’s great to see the children having such a fun time learning their sport, and we hope to see some stars of the future playing for the Scotland football team. We’re also delighted to have extended our support to the 2011 team to ensure they reflect the club’s professionalism as they head into their matches and training sessions.
“This sponsorship allows us to play our part in continuing our support in the local community, and it also allows us to underpin our commitment to creating a fantastic range of family homes at our Sibbalds Wynd development in Bathgate.”
