The plan is to restore the Highland landmark bringing it up to date with investment in the bedrooms, public spaces and spa. Work has now commenced to bring it to its former glory, ahead of reopening in spring 2021.

Based in Glasgow, Bell & Swift has over 20 years of experience working with leading global chains and boutique hotels including Hilton, Accor, IHG and Marriott. They are looking forward to creating a striking and imaginative design for the Loch Rannoch Hotel and a space that evokes a warm welcome for future guests.

The refurbishment includes the creation of a new signature suite with loch views and a balcony; full redesign of guestrooms, as well as the addition of new bedrooms. The design focus will retain original features such as cornicing and mouldings while adding new fresh and modern touches to the rooms.

The reception area and main lounge and bar area will be renovated to focus on warmth and hospitality; the area will be stylish and welcoming and retain some of the well-loved period features including the staircase and fireplaces.

The hotel was bought from MacDonald Hotels in July by Loch Rannoch Estate Ltd group led by Nick Pattie. Nick has a long history with the hotel as he managed the estate over 30 years ago.  He is looking forward to working with Bell & Swift to create one of the best destination hotels in Scotland.

The refurbishment will also see the breakfast room enjoy a complete revamp and plans are underway to have an artisan coffee and bakery where guests and locals/day visitors can enjoy informal dining throughout the day.  

The Ptarmigan Restaurant, which seats around 50 for dinner, has glorious loch views and will also be brought up to date as part of the renovation.
