The £9 million deal with industrial and property group Hargreaves Services for a 10.75-acre site within the Blindwells development area is contingent on detailed planning permission and other approvals being received.

It is the second deal struck with a housebuilder at the Blindwells area, which covers 540 hectares in total.

Outline planning has already been granted for 1,600 homes to be built at the site.

It is expected that these will be secured in 2020.

David Anderson, group property director at Hargreaves, said: “We are delighted to exchange contracts with Bellway in our second conditional sale of land at the Blindwells site. We are encouraged by the level of interest in the site and look forward to bringing further plots to market.”

Earlier this year, a conditional contract was exchanged with a Scottish housebuilder in Hargreaves’ first sale of land at Blindwells. That contract has a value to Hargreaves of over £1m. Detailed planning consent is expected shortly for that plot, with legal completion anticipated in the first half of next year.
