Bellway appoints trio of rising talent
Bellway Homes has welcomed two new apprentices and a graduate to its Scotland West Division based in Hamilton.
Junior Boyd-McKee, from Carluke, joins as an apprentice civil engineer alongside Alexandra Healy, from Hamilton who has been appointed an apprentice quantity surveyor. Both will attend university remotely a day a week during their apprenticeship programme.
A Construction Graduate, Ibrahim Mahmood from Pollokshields in Glasgow joins from Glasgow Caledonia University where he successfully completed an honours degree in Construction Management. Currently based at the company’s Ferry Grove development in Braehead, Ibrahim will undertake Bellway’s two-year graduate programme working across different departments to gain an insight into the business and complete different projects with other graduates.
All three have been assigned a dedicated business mentor. Bellway is also a member of the Association of Apprentices enabling candidates to connect with a community of other apprentices across the UK, build networks, gain advice and further training.
Andy Borland, construction director, Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland), said: “It’s been well documented the desperate need to attract young talent into the industry and we’re delighted to have attracted Junior, Alexandra and Ibrahim who have a great enthusiasm to learn.
“Our sector offers a rewarding career and all three have a great opportunity to develop their skills.”
