Bellway launches second phase at Dargavel Village
Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West) has launched the second phase of its Dargavel Village development in Bishopton with the start of work on 172 new homes.
Consisting of two-bedroom apartments, three, four and five-bedroom semi and detached homes, the second phase is situated close to the brand new primary school at Arrochar Drive and follows the first phase of its original development of 177 homes off Slateford Road.
Pauline Coates, sales director at Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West), said: “We are delighted to kick off 2022 with the launch of this new phase. As one of the first builders to start construction at Dargavel Village we had no idea how popular it would be with homebuyers. From day one it has been a huge success with buyers and our only problem has been trying to meet demand
“We are so happy to have secured a second parcel of land and now be able to offer some of those disappointed homebuyers who missed out the first time round the chance to secure their dream home.
“It is incredible to see how the area has changed since we first started building on vacant land there in 2018 – it is now a vibrant community, with shops, a new school and fantastic transport links. It’s no surprise house hunters love it there so much.”
The new development in Dargavel Village will form part of the larger regeneration of BAE Systems’ old Royal Ordinance Factory, which will see up to 4,000 new homes in total being built in the popular commuter village.
When complete Dargavel Village will comprise new housing, commercial and community buildings, a woodland park and recreational facilities. It is named after Dargavel House, a Grade B listed tower house building situated within the grounds of the BAE complex, which has parts that date back to 1514.
