George won the plaudit for his work at Manor Park in Cumbernauld, a collection of three, four and five bedroom homes in a leafy setting near Dullatur Golf Course.

He will be presented with his award at the Scotland Regional lunch on October 4 in The Hilton, Glasgow.

George, who lives in Cumbernauld, said: “It’s an amazing buzz getting this kind of recognition from the NHBC, regardless of how many times you win the award.

“I am very lucky to have been working with the same team for the last six years and we strive to achieve a consistently high standard so we can deliver the best possible house we can for our homebuyers every time. Manor Park looks absolutely terrific and we are really proud of it.”

Pride in the Job is the house-building industry’s most prestigious awards programme. It is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.

This year’s 450 Quality Award winners from across the UK represent the top 3% of the 16,000 site managers entered into the competition for their management of a site registered for warranty with NHBC.

They will go on to be entered for the Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards with the Supreme Award Winners unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2020.

Andy Borland, head of construction Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West), added: “George is an exceptionally talented site manager and his attention to detail is second to none. Winning any award is amazing but eight consecutively is just incredible and a testimony to the fact that George gives 100% every single day of his working life.

“He’s a great role model for our next generation of site managers and a fantastic ambassador for Bellway. We will be crossing our fingers that he receives further recognition at the Regional Awards in October.”

Now in its 39th year, the Awards are the most highly regarded competition in the house-building industry.

NHBC chief executive Steve Wood said: “Launched nearly 40 years ago, Pride in the Job has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes. Despite the challenges the industry has faced in recent times, this year’s winners have kept their focus on delivering high quality new homes for their customers.

“A site manager’s role is undoubtedly one of the toughest in house building and their drive for excellence is very much at the heart of the competition. Receiving a Quality Award is a great achievement for any site manager. It’s no surprise that Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of customer satisfaction as these homes are without doubt among the best the UK has to offer.”
