- Newton Property launches 2020 green vision campaign
Lettings company Newton Property has launched its national 2020 Green Energy Vision campaign helping Scotland embrace a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly future.
The campaign will see Newton Property invest £100,000 in the first phase of its electric vehicle charging point initiative with the installation of charging points in properties factored by Newton, with the aim of having at least 50 charging points up and running by 2020. Newton is the first private property factor to make such a commitment.
The Scottish Government has set a target to phase out new petrol and diesel cars by 2032, with only battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles allowed.
Newton’s Green Vision campaign is multi-faceted and has set out a programme of key initiatives to be implemented by 2020, which also includes helping customers generate electricity from installation of solar PV schemes, reducing energy usage through installation of LED lighting and smart lighting controls, ensuring all customers’ electricity is from suppliers committed to generating electricity from renewable sources and utilising derelict areas of ground as carbon stores through co-ordinated tree planting schemes.
