Building Briefs – July 3rd
Generous volunteers have helped give Lennoxtown’s Campsie Memorial hall a new coat of paint as part of the community benefits being offered during the construction of the Community Hub.
Staff from Morgan Sindall, East Dunbartonshire Council’s development partner hub West Scotland and Spectrum Decorating helped to transform the back of house areas of the popular facility.
Using their own weekend time, 10 volunteers repainted part of the hall, which is used for storage, meeting space and dressing rooms.
The volunteers are all involved in the construction of the new Community Hub currently being built on Lennoxtown’s Main Street which will bring East Dunbartonshire Council, library, leisure and cultural services under one roof.
There will also be healthcare services - including GP surgeries - in conjunction with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
The £5.29 million development is being built as part of the council’s wider regeneration of the area in partnership with its development partner hub West Scotland. Hub West Scotland will help add value to the local regeneration work through creating apprenticeship opportunities, and supporting other education activity in the local area related to the project.
