Construction industry’s chance to pledge its support for The Lighthouse Club
Construction industry charity, The Lighthouse Club, is calling on firms and employees across the sector to vote for it to benefit from a £20,000 donation pot pledged by Hudson Contract to mark its 20th anniversary.
The Lighthouse Club is one of just four charities that can benefit from the generous initiative being launched by the leading construction audit, contract and payroll provider to celebrate its birthday and give something back to both the industry and leading good causes.
Anyone can vote for their preferred charity at http://www.hudsoncontract.co.uk/choose-your-charity/ with each one receiving a percentage of the £20,000 pot based on the total number of votes it receives online before Friday 27th May.

Golfers block housing plan for course
Members of a golf club have rejected a money spinning plan to sell their nine-hole course to housing developers.
Golfers at Cambuslang Golf Club could have been set to pocket about £20,000 each if they accepted an offer from builders.
But members voted 131 to 100 against selling up in a deal thought to be worth about £7m.
Plan to convert steading into wedding venue
Plans have been submitted to turn a derelict farmyard steading into a “unique” wedding venue.
Duncan and Vicky McConchie want to convert the 200-year old building at Laggan, near Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire.
They say it would create 30 jobs and inject £2 million into the economy.
Roads improvement programme to begin in Aberdeenshire
A major road improvement programme is due to get underway in Aberdeenshire.
Surface dressing, laying of hot bitumen and chipping works will begin today.
However, motorists are being warned to take extra care and reduce speed when passing over treated sections of carriageway as there is a short-term heightened risk of skidding.
