Cala Homes site manager takes Pride in the Job
Cala Homes site manager Michael Carrigan is celebrating this week after receiving a prestigious industry award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).
Michael has won a 2018 NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award in recognition of his work at CALA’s Dullatur Greens development in Cumbernauld.
Now in its 38th year, Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. Around 16,000 site managers are assessed with only 300 awards made, which means the accolade recognises the industry’s top two per cent who produce the best quality new homes, built and finished to the highest possible standards.
As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 37 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, quality and consistency.
Michael is one of 11 CALA site managers to win one of this year’s awards. He will now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence Awards, which will be announced in the autumn.
Angus Murray, construction director for CALA Homes (West), said: “CALA is an upmarket homebuilder which prides itself both on the quality of our homes and on having well-managed developments with the very highest levels of site safety. Our independent customer satisfaction scores show that 93% of customers would recommend CALA to a friend which is testament to the pride, care and attention to detail that goes into creating a CALA home.
“NHBC Pride in the Job is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive and we are delighted for both Michael and the whole team at Dullatur Greens that they have been recognised in this way.”
Michael Carrigan said: “It is a great feeling to be recognised with this industry prize for our commitment to outstanding quality. It has been a challenging year with regards to the weather but the whole team has excelled at the development and the award is testament to their dedication.”
