Cala lodges plans for new homes in Cardross

A typical Cala street scene

Cala Homes (West) has submitted a planning application for the development of land in Cardross which, if approved, will deliver a variety of homes ranging from one-bedroom cottage flats to five-bedroom family homes.

The planning application, lodged with Argyll and Bute Council, proposes to build 130 homes at the site on the northern edge of Cardross between Darleith Road and Barrs Road.

The new development will provide residents with dedicated on-site parking for homeowners with additional provisions for guests too.

In addition, the site will boast extensive areas of high-quality landscaping and open spaces, including a village green and playpark. The landscaping and green spaces on the site will help to improve local biodiversity, benefitting both residents and the wider community.

As part of the work undertaken to develop the site and neighbouring area, Cala Homes (West) will carry out a programme of road improvements and traffic calming that will have a positive impact on Darleith Road and the surrounding area.

Moray Stewart, land director, Cala Homes (West) said: “We have submitted a planning application to develop land that is allocated for housing in Cardross with a view to providing a range of homes, including 25% affordable housing to meet local demand.

“Cala has a strong connection with Cardross having built The Fairways in the village in 2005 and we are confident that this site will bring the same levels of enthusiasm from the local community.”

Cala Homes (West) will work with Dunbritton Housing Association to deliver the 30 affordable rented units on site.

The housebuilder is committed to creating sustainable developments that serve the needs of homebuyers and provide local benefit through employment, council tax contributions and economic value.
