Cala submits plans for north east developments

Cala Homes (North) has submitted two planning applications for new homes in Bridge of Don and Conglass, Inverurie.

Proposals have been submitted to Aberdeen City Council for 72 new homes on the unused space where the former Silverburn House was demolished in Bridge of Don in 2019. If approved, the site will feature a mix of 54 three, four and five-bedroom detached homes as well as 18 one and three-bedroom affordable properties.

Detailed plans for 95 new homes at Conglass in Inverurie have also been put forward, following the recent approval of Cala’s masterplan for the site by Aberdeenshire Council. The proposal would add a second phase to the housebuilder’s previous development, The Grove at Inverurie, which sold out at the end of 2021.

If approved, the development will include 95 new homes, including 71 four and five-bedroom detached houses and 24 affordable properties comprising terraced homes and apartments.

Lynn Melvin, senior land manager for Cala Homes (North), said: “Our proposed new community in Bridge of Don would turn disused land into high quality homes that are sympathetic to their surroundings in a fantastic suburb of the city.

“Our plans for Conglass aim to bring much-needed, sustainable homes to the area, alongside supporting infrastructure, open space and landscaping – all designed to complement the surrounding environment.

“Both of our proposals include a number of sustainability and biodiversity measures and the developments would see the adoption of our Community Pledge initiative, which aims to create a bespoke plan of community support including donations, volunteering, school programmes and more.”
