Caledonia Contracts to step up for Jimmy Choo refurb

Luxury shoe retailer Jimmy Choo has appointed Caledonia Contracts to complete refurbishment works within the Harvey Nichols store in Edinburgh.

The brand traces its roots to a bespoke shoemaker named Jimmy Choo, based in the East End of London in the early 1990s, who catered to the global jet set, including Princess Diana.

Retail development has been integral to the company’s strategy. The first Jimmy Choo store was opened in 1996 on Motcomb Street in London, complementing a distribution in some of the most prestigious multi-brand stores in the world. Two years later, the company expanded to the US, opening two stores in New York City and Beverly Hills.

Caledonia’s commercial director David Johnston said: “We are delighted to be associated with two iconic luxury brand retailers with both Jimmy Choo and Harvey Nichols. Retail shopfitting is our core business and to be involved with both simultaneously, is an added bonus.”

Works on the project will commence in the coming weeks.
