Casey Gardner paints a bright future with Persimmon
Casey Gardner
At just 19, Casey Gardner is proving that hard work, passion, and talent can paint the path to a successful career.
As an apprentice painter and decorator with Persimmon, Casey is already making a significant impact in the industry and her local community.
A native of Fife, Casey started her journey by completing an NPA Painting and Decorating course at Fife College’s Granton Campus in Glenrothes. It was here that Persimmon first spotted her talent, offering her a place on their renowned apprenticeship programme. Now, Casey works on various sites around Fife, applying her skills to bring new homes to life while continuing her studies at the same campus.
Casey was the first apprentice to be hired through Fife College’s partnership with Persimmon. Earlier this year, she had the honour of helping announce the collaboration, which was attended by cabinet secretary for education and local MSP, Jenny Gilruth. During the visit, Casey had the opportunity to showcase her skills by teaching Jenny how to paint—an experience that highlighted her expertise and dedication to her craft.
Her talent has not gone unnoticed. Earlier this year, Casey was nominated by Fife College to attend the World Skills Competition in China, a prestigious event that showcases the best in vocational skills from around the globe. This nomination speaks volumes about her abilities and potential in the field of painting and decorating.
