CBRE Scotland strengthens teams with latest NextGen recruits
Six new apprentices and graduates have been appointed as part of CBRE’s continued investment in the next generation of property professionals in Scotland.
As part of its Next Generation programme, this year’s new starts are Skye Rooney, Struan Robertson and James Tweedie based in the Glasgow office, Ruairidh Cant and Ellie Buchanan in the Edinburgh office, and Joe Reid in Aberdeen. They join three apprentices and five graduates who began their Next Generation journey last year.
CBRE’s dedicated Next Generation initiative includes apprenticeship schemes, graduate programmes and internship opportunities across a breadth of disciplines and roles in the real estate sector. Encouraging young people to pursue a career in property and gain invaluable client-facing experience, CBRE Scotland has supported more than 22 people via its Next Generation scheme over the last five years.
With specialisms including project & cost management, building surveying, commercial property acquisition & valuation, lease consultancy, property management and planning, the two-year graduate programme includes rotational schemes to offer exposure across different sectors, alongside support to achieve industry-recognised accreditations.
Ellie Buchanan, who starts her apprenticeship in the project management team in the Edinburgh office, joins after successful completion of Career Ready scheme. This sees CBRE Scotland partner with the social mobility charity to support their programme of paid internships, mentoring, masterclasses and workplace visits for young people.
Jason Taylor, head of building surveying Scotland, said: “Supporting the next generation of talent is a big focus for us and we’re excited to welcome six new recruits. The positive impact that graduates and apprentices have on the business cannot be understated, they bring fresh ideas and new approaches that make a real difference for our clients.
“Investing in a strong talent pipeline is crucial to our future success and growth aspirations. We are committed to fostering an environment where junior professionals and those embarking on a new career path can thrive, develop their skills, learn from each other, and grow into the leaders of tomorrow.”
Applications for CBRE Scotland’s 2025 Graduate Scheme in commercial real estate are open until 3 November.
