CCG begins window replacement contract for Partick Housing Association
CCG has commenced its latest window replacement contract in the city of Glasgow with Partick Housing Association.
Work began on the planned maintenance contract in late November with 47 residences across the district set to benefit from added performance and security brought by CCG’s own ‘PVCu’ window sets.
PVCu is a form of thermoplastic and exceptionally durable material that is not prone to rot or weathering.
CCG’s in-house Manufacturing division fabricates the windows from PVCu profiles that are supplied by polymer provider, REHAU UK, in an advanced manufacturing hub in Cambuslang.
Fully Secure by Design accredited and predominantly made from recycled materials, 327 units will be installed in total by CCG’s planned maintenance division known as ‘Asset Management’.
This one-stop-shop, supply and install service will ensure the entire contract is completed within a 12-week working period.
Partick’s chief executive, Stewart MacKenzie, said: “We’re delighted to be working with CCG in the delivery of this latest phase of our window replacement programme. As part of our asset management strategy, we are committed to continuing our significant investment in improving our properties across the West End and providing warm, comfortable homes for our tenants.”
CCG management manager, Jim Cunnigham, added: “Our PVCu products offer clients like Partick Housing Association an added layer of comfort in the procurement of enhanced windows sets. Due to the very nature of the material, PVCu windows offer a much longer lifespan than timber alternatives, whilst our full supply and fit service provides a single chain of responsibility, ensures a quality finish, and a streamlined installation process.
“We thank Partick HA for choosing CCG for this contract and look forward to working with the association in the weeks ahead.”
Samsara McDonald, commercial sales manager at REHAU UK, said: “It was a pleasure to supply CCG with windows for this planned maintenance contract. Our goal was to find a solution that would complement the building’s architectural context whilst improving tenants’ thermal comfort.
“The TOTAL70 system was the ideal choice due to the variety of colour finishes available and its A+ energy efficiency rating, and I am delighted to see residents are already benefiting from its improved performance during these winter months.”
The Partick HA contract was procured via Scotland Excel and is set for completion in the early stages of the New Year.
