CIJC employers group launches new website
The employers group of the Construction Industry Joint Council has today launched a new website in partnership with Construction Industry Publications Limited.
The site will offer immediate access to the Construction Industry Joint Council working rule agreement, which provides guidance on terms and conditions of employment, including current national minimum rates of pay for those working in the building and civil engineering industry.
The CIJC Employers Group is an independent body made up of eight employers organisations based across the UK, representing the interests of adherent bodies in the building and civil engineering industry. It focuses specifically on the management of employee and industrial relations together with broader aspects of work and well-being within the building and civil engineering industry.
The launch of the website is part of a drive to modernise the working rule agreement and provide cost free access to the agreement to employers, employer organisations, those working in the industry and trade unions representing those working in the industry.
Alasdair Reisner, chief executive at CECA, said: “The Civil Engineering Contractors Association welcomes the launch of the CIJC website. Access to the Working Rule Agreement and the ability to raise questions and seek guidance is welcomed by our member companies.”
Steve Smith, secretary to the employers group, said: “We hope that this website will provide employers and operatives with up-to-date information about the agreement. Over the past 18 months we have seen how important it is to be able to update all those covered by the Agreement quickly, as the industry worked to maintain a safe and productive work environment during some very difficult times. The website will allow us in the future to respond in a much more agile way to the needs of the industry.”
Sarah Kenny, sales and marketing manager at Construction Industry Publications (CIP), said: “CIP is delighted to be continuing its long standing association with the CIJC Employers Group, and working with them to launch this new website and the distribution of the now freely available Working Rule Agreement.”
