Clark Contracts achieves Approved Training Organisation status
Clark Contracts is to begin delivering a suite of in-house training modules to staff after the firm achieved Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
Now approved by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), the main contractor’s in-house Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) team can deliver a number of courses with the plans already in place for ‘Risk Management’ and ‘Abrasive Wheels’ to be the first topics covered.
Clark Contracts employs over 250 staff and invested £500k in training through its Academy in 2018. The company also employed a dedicated learning and development manager to further enhance its training procedures.
Managing director Gordon Cunningham said: “This new ATO status will allow us to streamline our training plans and enhance our in house skills to support our growing demand for training.”
More than 20% of Clark Contracts’ employees are studying towards formal qualifications at college or university. The organisation has also spent an additional £11,300 on training two mental health first aiders, mental health champions across the company and mental health awareness sessions with further investment planned for the future.
