Clark Contracts delivers new community facilities in Ratho
Clark Contracts is currently on site constructing a new library and early years facility in Ratho for the City of Edinburgh Council.
The existing temporary unit which housed the former library was demolished, to make way for the construction of a new single-storey building, which will create new, flexible library space for the community and a modern early year’s facility.
As part of the project, Clark Contracts, whose Edinburgh office is located less than two miles from the development, is also providing community support. So far, the contractor has made a £2,500 donation to the Edinburgh School Uniform Bank and is supporting a school pupil for a work placement on site.
The contractor’s HSEQ manager has also delivered a health and safety presentation to the neighbouring Ratho Primary School. Future plans include local recruitment, volunteering within the local community, donations to the school and further engagement with local suppliers and subcontractors.
The project is being delivered with Currie and Brown acting as the council’s cost consultant, Narro Associates as structural engineer and RSP Consulting Engineers as the services consultant.
Michael Scanlan, director at Clark Contracts, said: “We are delighted to be working with The City of Edinburgh Council again, to deliver this project which will provide improved facilities for the local community. We are enjoying working within Ratho, and will continue to liaise with the local community as the works progress.”
