Clark Contracts reaches £100m turnover milestone
Clark Contracts has achieved a record turnover of £100 million in the year ending 31st October 2022 as the main contractor entered its 45th year in business.
Founded in 1978, the Paisley-based firm works throughout the UK, delivering projects across all sectors, for both private and public sector clients.
Several key projects contributed to this success, including the £20m design and build of a major modular student accommodation development on Edinburgh’s London Road, a £4m industrial development at Langland’s Commercial Park for Knight Property Group, the construction of Ian MacLeod Distillers new HQ in Broxburn and the fit out of office space at 200 Broomielaw in Glasgow.
These were supported by numerous projects awarded via the contractor’s minor works framework appointments, from customers including the University of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde and NHS National Services Scotland.
Employing over 240 employees, Clark Contracts also have an award-winning Academy which supports and develops new talent into the industry. This year, the company welcomed 19 new recruits, and with many previous Academy graduates having progressed to senior roles within the company, this supports staff retention and supports sustainable growth within the business.
The business continually invests in its employees, having recently made significant investments in training, including a bespoke leadership and development programme, and mental health awareness training.
Managing director, Gordon Cunningham, said: “As we enter our 45th year in business, we want to build on this, and target continued growth. We received a record number of orders in October last year, which has ensured a strong start to our 2022/23 financial year. We have a good client base, and are working across various sectors, which helps support this growth.”
